CURATED INTERIORS

Raven & Wood Agency is a boutique interior design studio born out of love for colours, patterns, forms, patina, and the dialogue in between. It was born from an aesthetic sensibility where beauty lies not in the picturesque, but in an atmospheric interplay of tension and harmony between related and, at times, opposing elements.

Founded in Brussels, Belgium, in 2018, the agency began as both a design studio and WELL Building Standard¹ consultancy. The studio's work is grounded in an understanding of environmental psychology, architectural phenomenology, sustainable practices, and the interconnected needs of humans and the wider natural world.

Years in Finland, Belgium, the Netherlands and the UK have brought international connections and perspective to the studio's work – a functional Nordic approach, a conceptual and experimental Dutch line of thought, and an emotive sensibility to design from Belgium. Today, the agency has evolved into an interior design studio that continues to carry this legacy.

The studio's founder Heini Lehtinen² is an artistic director and interior designer. A Design Academy Eindhoven alumna, she also works on the development and direction of publications, exhibitions, and public programmes. Raven & Wood Agency is a visual embodiment of her view of the world. ✢

Raven & Wood Agency's values are guidelines for our day-to-day actions – in how we look at the world, approach commissions, work with our clients, source materials, and take care of our network.

REFLECTIVENESS

Slowing down is crucial for listening, observing, and focusing on each collaboration. The client’s needs, desires, and goals are the starting points for each new commission. We understand the psychological, emotional, and physical aspects behind each solution. Working efficiently doesn't mean rushing. ‘Busy’ isn't a part of the vocabulary when seeking timeless approaches instead of chasing trends.

CONNECTION

Connecting lies at the core. Each collaboration is connected to the client's stories, present and future, people, and the environment. Outcomes that are both grounded and novel feel integrated – as if they have always been there. New and exciting, yet a natural continuation of the existing.

INSIGHT

Taking a broad view enables an understanding of connections to bring forward thoughtful proposals and solutions. Through insight, each project becomes strategic – leading towards the client's vision and goals, as well as supporting the needs of the surrounding world.

BOLDNESS

Boldness is an attitude – taking steps that are scary and sometimes feel uncertain. In our projects, we encourage to take the next step and enter a new chapter. Boldness can be strongly conceptual, yet paired with functionality. Our aim is to contribute to the experience of awe, triggering both emotion and intellect.

CARE

Care – cura – lies deep at the core. Respect is the starting point for dialogue and collaboration. Caring for humans and nature is fundamental. We are committed to contributing to a world that is a little more just and beautiful for both humanity and nature. ✢
